Chopped Wood

Lehde, Germany, September 2015

As I mentioned in the previous post, there is still one village preserved, for touristic purposes, as the villages in the Spreewald used to be before industrialization: the transport of people and goods was made from house to house by boat. In Lehde, the few people left live their daily life in a combination between tradition and modern. Some houses still have heating stoves with wood, and one can see the piles of chopped wood near the water.
